We are currently staffed by a Clinical Psychologist and an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Both our clinicians have undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications and both can provide rebates for up to 10 sessions per year on a GP Mental Health Care Plan. You can read more about our team here.
No, a referral is not required to see our staff. However, a referral that includes a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, can entitle you to a medicare rebate off the session fee. Referrals from other professionals can also assist us in ensuring we connect you with the right support.
A MHCP provides for 10 rebated sessions each calendar year. If you have not used 10 sessions within a calendar year you may be entitled to a review for more sessions, and your GP can assist with this. If however you have used 10 sessions in a calendar year, and you would like to continue with your clinicians, this is absolutely fine, the full fee will apply for each additional session.
Some Private Health Insurance extras cover sessions with a psychologist or social worker. You will need to check with your provider to see if you are eligible. If so you will need to pay the full fee to us, and we will provide you with a copy of your invoice, including the item number and you can claim directly through your provider.
The Two Trees Psychotherapy is a small Private Practice and does not offer bulk billing.
Sessions are usually 50 minutes in length. You and your clinician will decide how regular your appointments will be. This will depend on your individual needs and your lifestyle and could be weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
If you are unable to keep an appointment due to illness or emergency, please let us know right away. Call our office anytime and leave a voicemail if needed. If you do not show up to an appointment or fail to let us know by 10am the business day before your scheduled appointment that you need to cancel or reschedule, a late fee may apply.
Late fees help us cover costs when appointments are missed or cancelled without enough notice. View our cancellation policy here.
We do not have onsite parking, however there is street parking available on Limestone Street, Ellenborough Street and Brisbane Street. Additionally, you can access free parking for up to 3 hours at the Nicholas Street Precinct undercover parking. This is just a 5 minute walk to our offices.
We use Zoom for most of our video telehealth sessions. If you choose telehealth appointments, you will be sent a URL link prior to your appointment to join. You will need a reliable internet connection and a web browser as well as a camera and microphone to participate in telehealth sessions.
